Maja Šolak Bataković, biography

Maja Šolak Bataković was born on May 20th, 1983 and grew up in Banja Luka, Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where she finished Elementary and High School. In 2003 she enrolled at the Academy of Arts, University of Banja Luka, and graduated in 2008 in the Program of Fine Arts in the class of professor Radomir Knežević. Her thesis title was 'Slika života = Život slike', 'A Painting of Life = Life of a Painting' , which contained her research during studies. In 2009 she enrolled in the Masters of Art program, which she completed in 2014. Her Masters exibition was called 'Passions'.

 

Maja has presented herself to the public through several independent exhibits:

2008, Gallery 96 in Prijedor – a series of oil on canvas;

2010, Banski Dvor, Banja Luka - a series of objects and oil on canvas under the name 'Lunar phases';

2014, University Gallery, Banja Luka - a series of spatial installations and oil on canvas under the name 'Passions'.

 

Maja has participated in numerous collective exhibits and art colonies, national and regional.
